[Medicine] The Stem Cell and Regeneration Medicine Research Team of China Medical University in Line with International Norm (Chinese Version)

Now News (2010/05/18) The stem cell and regeneration medicine research team of China Medical University will begin to impart their fundamental research and clinical experiment achievements to the experts and technicians in the industries of biomedicine and biotechnology from this year on. The head of the team Professor Shinn-Zong LIN said, the talent cultivation project will not only produce advanced stem cell and regeneration medicine experts, but also accelerate the industry-academia cooperation and pass the academic achievements to clinical applications, making the stem cell industry-academia realm in Taiwan in line with the international standard.

China Medical University and the Hospital has shown striking excellence in the fields of biotechnology and advanced medicine. With the financial supports from several organizations, the university has established an educational resource center for new drugs of translational medicine and industry-acadmia collaboration on Chinese herb medicine. Besides, the university has also established an education platform for cultivating advanced talents of translational medicine and stem cell and regeneration medicine. By now, the university has submitted 12 stem cell patent applications, four of which have been passed. Besides, five industry-acadmia collaboration projects, two international projects of commercialization and one international research project with a company in the U.S. on stem cell treatment of stroke, stem cell treatment of spinal injury and apoplectic translational research, are being executed.
