[Green Industry] National Central University Presents Green EMBA (Chinese Version)

NCU Hot News (2010/01/25) The idea of environmental protection is dominating the globe while the green industry is flourishing everywhere; the “green collar” becomes more and more needed. With the strong bases of its College of Earth Sciences and School of Management, National Central University offers the first Green EMBA program in Taiwan, beside of its general program and cross-strait program. In 2010 the program begins to accept application; in the first year, the program will accept 15 persons.

NCU Vice President Dr. Joseph S. LEE thinks the globe is facing three serious problems: high unemployment rate of the high educated, unfair economic distribution in globalization, and environmental damage due to economic development. The traditional strategies and methods managing the situation seem to cause more problems and contradictions. The only way to solve the situation is supposed to be “green economics,” says LEE, which is a way “from obligation to opportunity.”

NCU has spent long-term effort on environmental sustainability and offers a lot of courses on environmental engineering. With its College of Earth Sciences and School of Management, NCU is supposed to be very suitable for Green EMBA. The program will be open for both the people who are working in the green industries and the non-green workers, because the purpose of this program also aims at culturing “green seeds” who can bring the ideas of green economic management into the workplaces and change the enterprises.
