[Sci-tech Policy] Inauguration of the First Demonstration Center for Intelligent City in Taiwan (Chinese Version)

Radio Taiwan International & udn.com (2009/11/12) Institute for Information Industry, III, and IBM-Taiwan co-hosted a press conference on 12th-November, 2009, introducing the Demonstration Center for Intelligent City (trans. temp.) to the public. CEO of III Jyh-Sheng KE, GM of IBM-Taiwan Edward YU, representatives of Ministry of Economic Affairs and representatives of Taipei City Government were attending the event. Via the press conference, the vision of the center was presented to the public with expositions of the six major “intelligent” solutions.

III points out, to cope with the government's Intelligent Taiwan Policy, III has focused its sci-tech developments on two directions: (1) infrastructures and (2) applications and services for intelligent life, through which III hopes to encourage industrial innovations and create happiness. The Demonstration Center for Intelligent City is grounded upon the basis of the cooperation project between III and IBM-Taiwan two years ago, “SOA Innovation Center”; investing more resources as well as techniques, the present center is made competent for providing technical assistance to the relevant industries, inviting more software or service providers to take part in the construction of intelligent city. It is believed, if the cities become more intelligent and webucated, they will gain more advantages regarding their own sustainability.
