[Energy] APEC Energy Week about to Launch in Taipei on 5th-October (Chinese Version)

Now News (2009/10/03) ＆ The Liberty Times E-paper (2009/10/04) In order to enhance the ideas of energy conservation and carbon reduction among the member economies to face the challenge from global warming and climate changes, MoEA-Bureau of Energy, Industrial Technology Research Institute and APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) will co-host a series of activities perspectively in Howard Hotel Taipei and Taipei World Trade Center Nangang Exhibition Hall since 5th- to 10th-October. The event expects to arouse international cooperation to elevate the efficiency of energy consumption and to broaden the application scope of renewable powers in the member economies.

According to Bureau of Energy, the themes of the activities in APEC Energy Week encompasses energy conservation technology, renewable power and their relevant fields. There will be two expert group meetings of the APEC Energy Working Group, three international workshops and one exhibition. The debut is the “Expert Group on New and Renewable Energy. Technologies, EGNRET” and “Workshop on Reducing Barriers to Trade through Development of a Common Protocol for Measuring The Seasonal Energy Efficiency (SEER) of Air Conditioners” on 5th, which are followed by “Expert Group on Energy Efficiency and Conservation ，EGEE&C,” “ APEC Workshop on Implications of Bio-refineries for Energy and Trade in the APEC Region” and “APEC Workshop for the Development of LED Lighting Standards and Testing Technology.” Also an exhibition on LED technology will take place following the event. It is expectable that the representatives from the member economies will have views and experiences exchanged in good measure.
