[Industrial][DRAM] Elpida Quits PSC Board. Their Triangle Relations with TMC Draw Much Attention (Chinese Version)

Japan's DRAM manufacturer Elpida quits Powerchip Semiconductor Corp. (PSC) board, when its Japan governmental capital invesment is getting assured; this causes the worry aobut the relation between Elpida and PSC. PSC exclaims that this rearrangement dose not imply any change in its relation to Elpida, but voices in the market (according to BCC News 2009/06/30) address that since TMC has got 10 percent of Elpida's stocks and its techniques, TMC has won the initial advantages, based on which the triangle relations among PSC, Elpida and TMC and their development are worth noticing.

On 29th-Jun., PSC reelected the directors and supervisors. Elpida's quitting the borad drew much attention. At the meantime PSC explaimed that Elpida's quitting does not imply any change in their relation but their coming back to a more reciprocal relation. According to Commercial Times (2009/07/01), METI (Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry) of Japan announced on 30th-Jun. that the governmental banks will invest about thirty billion yens in Elpida, and Elpida on the same day announced that it was taken into consideration to receive the second-round investment of twenty billion yens from TMC. The information both together made the market trend in negative interpretaions about Elpida's quitting PSC, which was also reflected in PSC's stock price development on 30th-Jun. According to China Times (2009/07/01) Elpida announced on 1st-Jul. corresponding to PSC's exclamation that there was no change at all in their long-term cooperation. President of Elpida Mr. Yukio SAKAMOTO received Economic Daily's interview (2009/07/02) on 1st-Jul. He insisted that the cooperation of Elpida and TMC would not harm Elpida's friendship with PSC. He said that the three sides of the triangle were reciprocally beneficial, and the real enemy was Korea.
