英特爾（Intel Corp）與台灣積體電路製造股份有限公司（TSMC）已經達成協議，共同研發並製造低成本Atom晶片，供各種消費性電子設備使用，當這兩家晶片製造商在經濟衰退惡化時瞄準新市場之際，將這種晶片的使用範圍擴大到筆記型電腦之外。

Intel Corp and TSMC team up to co-develop Atom-based technology chips for a range of electronic devices, helping both firms expand into new markets amid a deepening global recession. The application of this kind of chips will go beyond mere laptops.
