[International Cooperation][Ecology] Yushan National Park and Adamello Brenta Nature Park Signed Cooperation Agreement (Chinese Version)
China Times E-paper (2010/08/08) Yushan National Park Headquarters and Adamello Brenta Nature Park Headquarters (Alps area) in Italy signed a cooperation contract on August 9, according to which both parties will share the park management and ecological research experiences, creating a new channel for Taiwan-Italy cooperation.
Both parties began to exchange the information and to prepare for the cooperation in 2009. With the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Professor Homer WU, National Taichung University, both parties signed a cooperation MOU on April 6 already.
In the beginning of August, Yushan National Park Headquarters invited the officials of the Italian Federation of Parks and Nature Reserves and the officials of Adamello Brenta Nature Park, including the park chairperson Antonello Zulberti, to visit Yushan National Park.
In the signing ceremony on August 9, representatives from Adamello Brenta Nature Park presented an introductory film unfolding the natural features of the park to Taiwan public.
Adamello Brenta Nature Park is located in the west of Trentino, covering an area of 620 km² and including such mighty mountains as the Adamello and Brenta massifs. It is the first Italian nature park founded in 1967 and enlarged in 1987. Comparing to Yushan National Park, both are mountainous ecological preserves and each has a precious species of bears: alps brown bear and formosan black bear. Adamello Brenta Nature Park is rich in biodiversity and also included on the UNESCO list of “geological” parks.
