[Academia-Industrial Cooperation] NCKU and STSP Set Up Cheng Kung Club to Boost Up Academia-Industry Collaboration (Chinese Version)

Academia Sinica Newsletter (2012/10/19) National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), southern Taiwan, and Academia-Industry Consortium for Southern Taiwan Science Park (STSP) collaboratively set up “Cheng Kung Club” to signify the commence of academia-industry partnerships and strengthen the interaction between universities and industries in Taiwan, announced by the university recently.

The platform is expected to assist regional development in southern Taiwan and boost economic growth in Taiwan, according to NCKU president Hwung-Hweng HWUNG who plays the key role in the club

Jiun-Wei CHEN, Director General of STSP, President Dr. Jei-Fu SHAW of I-Shou University, President Dr. Chein TAI of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology, and the related enterprise representatives all attended the ceremony and anticipated to be the member of the club.

The club will start from the collaboration in biotechnology industry which can be based on the robust development of medical and biotechnology research in Taiwan.

The industry-academia-research cooperation in Taiwan has been promoted by government, yet the obstacles are still insurmountable, according to Director General CHEN, STSP.
