[International Cooperation] Taiwan and U.S. Collaborate in Technology Summit (Chinese Version)

RTI (2011/10/20) President of National Taipei University of Technology Leehter YAO led a delegation of representatives of National Taipei University, Taipei Medical University, National Cheng Kung University, National Chengchi University, Chung Yuan Christian Univeristy, etc. visiting Indiana and attended Indiana-Taiwan Technology Showcase and Entrepreneurship Summit.

The deligation signed a Memorandum of Understanding regarding global alliance for technology transfer and entrepreneurship with Indiana University Purdue University at Fort Wayne (IPFW); Rose CHEN from Chicago’s Taiwanese Economic and Cultural Development Office witnessed the event.

Indiana Governor Mitch DANIELS gave a speech at the summit, expressing the state's interest in the cooperation between Indiana's research institutes and enterprises, especially those in the northeast region of Indiana, and the similar institutes and enterprises in Taiwan.

According to Chicago’s Taiwanese Economic and Cultural Development Office, the formation of a global alliance for technology transfer and entrepreneurship was promoted by IPFW, especially by S. C. Max YEN, Dean of the College of Engineering, Technology, and Computer Science. At the first Indiana-Taiwan technology summit, innovators, entrepreneurs and business representatives from both Taiwan and Indiana gathered and watched 16 presentations and 28 exhibitions covering the fields of nanotechnology, thermoelectricity, energy, wireless remote control, medical detection, etc.
