[Space Sci-tech] NCKU and NSPO Signed MOU on March 7th (
Chinese Version)
NCKU News (2011/03/07) National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Tainan, Taiwan, and National Space Organization (NSPO), Taiwan, signed Memorandum of Understanding on Monday, agreeing to a 7-year research project on advanced satellite propulsion technology. This is the first time that NSPO signed a long-term cooperation project with an academic institution. NCKU will be responsible for the core technology development and NSPO will be responsible for the follow-up system integration test and authentication.
The cooperation project between NSPO and NCKU consists of two phases. First phase targets the development of key propulsion components and their integration as a module system. Second phase aims for the development of module system and quasi- flying modules.
In the future, if the development process is ahead of the project schedule, the newly-developed propulsion system can embark on flying modules such as Formosa satellites and space programs.
