[Green Tech][Industrial] Far Eastern New Century Put More Emphasis on Green Technology Development, Especially the Recycling of PET Materials (Chinese Version)


The Liberty Times (2010/06/22) Far Eastern New Century, Far Eastern Group, announced at its shareholders’ annual general meeting on June 22 that a five-year “multiplication project” will begin in terms of the following three objectives: to extend the operation scale, to invest in green technology and to focus on China market. More than one hundred billion NT dollars will be put into the project, and, during the first stage in the first three years, fifty billion NT dollars will already be spent. Among the invested items, the budget for green technology development will particularly be lifted four times than before. The recycling technology of the PET materials and bottles will be the main focus.

Far Eastern New Century produces environmental materials which are recyclable and bio-resolvable, including recyclable polyester chip, recyclable polyester fiber, PET beer bottle, PLA (polylactic acid), etc. To develop technology for reducing the dependence on fossil fuel, Far Eastern New Century stressed, it also takes the collaboration with the beverage makers. Far Eastern New Century pointed out, for example, that the sponsored outfit of the World Cup 2010 was its product made with the recycled fibers obtained from the collaboration project with its client, namely, the “Plant Bottle Project” (plant-based plastic bottle project).
