[International Engagement] Taiwan Helps Saint Lucia with E-Government Construction (Chinese Version)

RTI (2011/03/19) With Taiwan's assistance, Saint Lucia's E-Government has been constructed and the government's service efficiency has been elevated. The driver's license application term, for instance, has been shortened from one year to one week.

Besides, eight of all the fourteen police branches in Saint Lucia have adopted the report system constructed under Taiwan's support. With the system, the police officers can obtain fast and correct information of public security and make rapid responses. Besides, after the digitization and systematization of the agricultural information, the government can make quick responses to the market and set proper agricultural policy.

In 2009 February, Saint Lucia Government set the ICT Centre in the capital Castries with the help from Taiwan and began the government's e-government project. The departments of traffic, police, justice, agriculture and education were directly benefited.
