傳統上血癌病患的診療,必須接受骨髓穿刺或切片。切片取得的血管新生的數據,只是靜態的,無法得知其異常血管之血流動態或滲透性的改變,更不能重複測量新生血管的即時性變化,使得診斷及治療的效果受到很大的限制。台大於98年1月14日(週三)上午舉行研究成果發表會,醫學院施庭芳教授與田蕙芬教授的研究團隊,發表一項突破性研究成果,利用常規的磁振掃描並結合一套創新的分析模式,可準確的評估急性骨髓性白血病病患治療的效果與存活。這是一項快速、非侵入性而且可以重覆測量的影像方法,此項創新的研究成果已發表於國際上血液學科的頂級期刊《Blood》上。

[Medicine] Taida Presents International Breakthrough in Diagnosis Technology of Leukemia

Traditional leukemia diagnosis depends on bone marrow aspiration or section. The angiogenesis data obtained from sections are static, which provide insufficient information about the dynamic change status of blood flow or osmosis in vascular malformations. The technique does not allow for observation of the repeated real time change (RTC) of new generated vessels as well. The research team, led by Professor Ting-fang Shih and Professor Hwei-Fang Tien etc., NTU-CM, presents a new method of diagnosis in a conference, 14th-Jan., 2009, which combines regular dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI) with an innovative analysis algorithm to select high-risk phenotype AML patients for tailored anti-angiogenic therapy, monitor treatment response and evaluate the outcome. This is a fast, non-intrusive and repeatible imaging method. The research result has been presented in Blood.
