一、本辦法依據「財團法人聖嚴教育基金會與國立政治大學合作聖嚴漢傳佛教學術發展專案捐贈協議書」訂定。

二、本辦法宗旨為獎勵研究生進行與漢傳佛教學術相關研究，發表研究成果，以提升並推動國內漢傳佛教研究學術水準，培養漢傳佛教學術研究人才。

三、獎助對象：本校博、碩班在學生。

四、申請資格：
（一）、具本校博、碩班在學生身份
（二）、研究主題或學位論文與漢傳佛教相關
（三）、受獎學生於畢業前應以修習四門漢傳佛教課程為優先，修習課程由獎學金委員會認定，並以修習漢傳佛教講座課程為優先。
（四）、在學前一學期學業成績需達80分以上，且無一科不及格；操行成績為85分以上，且無重大不良紀錄。

（一）、受獎者該年度學雜費
（二）、受獎者該年度生活費
（三）、受獎者於受獎期間，參與海外研修得申請機票費補助。
獎助項目由政治大學宗教研究所專案委員會議審議擇項補助。

八、獎助金額與名額：
每年獎助博士生及碩士生各二名，獎助金額與項目由政治大學宗教研究所諮詢委員會議，依據當年度申請學生進行審核及分配。

九、本獎學金每年申請一次，補助期限以一年為期。碩士生最高受獎年限為兩年，博士生最高受獎期限為四年。

十、受獎學生需於畢業論文載明曾受財團法人聖嚴教育基金會獎助字樣。

十一、本辦法經政治大學宗教研究所專案委員會議通過後頒佈實施，修訂時亦同。

十二、本辦法如有未盡事宜，悉依「財團法人聖嚴教育基金會與國立政治大學合作聖嚴漢傳佛教學術發展專案捐贈協議書」規定之。

With the generous support of the Sheng Yen Educational Foundation, the Research Group in Buddhist Philosophy at the National Chengchi University (NCCU) is pleased to invite applications for a one-year postdoctoral research fellowship. The term of the appointment is August 1, 2015, to July 31, 2016.

The Fellowship is intended to foster the academic careers of recent Ph.D. whose area of research is Chinese Buddhist philosophy, Chinese Buddhist texts or Master Sheng Yen’s thought. Fellow is expected to work together with the faculty members at NCCU. The monthly salary (insurance included) is NT$55,000. A round-trip economy class flight ticket will be offered to the fellow who is not of Taiwanese citizenship. Applicants must have their doctoral degree in hand by July 31, 2015, and must be no more than six years out of their doctorate.

Applicants should submit the following materials:

(1) Curriculum vitae;

(2) Graduate school transcripts;

(3) Doctorate diploma (Notarization by a Taiwan overseas representative office is required for the recipient of postdoctoral fellowship);  

(4) A statement of no more than 2000 words outlining previous research (including dissertation), the research undertaken during the term of the fellowship, future professional goals, as well as any other information deemed relevant to the application;

(5) Writing samples (2-3 chapters of dissertation and articles);

(6) Two letters of recommendation, to be sent directly from the letter writers to the address below.

Application Deadline and Notification of Award

All application materials, including letters of recommendation, must be postmarked on or before June 20, 2015. Emailed applications can be accepted. Only complete applications will be considered. It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure that all documentation is complete and that referees submit their letters of recommendation by the closing date. Awards will be announced in early July 2015.

1. 課綱內容

漢傳因明和藏傳因明足以分庭抗禮，雖於漢傳因明現代有所復興，然而未能如藏傳因明/量論在國際學界引領風潮，主要原因是漢傳因明在文獻解讀上未能恰當地重置於印度因明的理論脈絡。有見於此，本研討課選取《如實論》、《方便心論》為材料，進行細部解讀，瞭解陳那之前的因明發展，重建漢傳因明文獻應有的地位。我們先前已經讀過龍樹的《迴諍論》、陳那的《因明正理門論》、《觀所緣緣論》、商羯羅主《因明入正理論》和清辨的《掌珍論》，這學期利用Brendan Gillion教授來訪，補足最早期的因明發展階段。

在因明（佛教邏輯）學史上，漢傳典籍的重要性有三點：一、保留早期因明的材料，如《方便心論》、《瑜伽師地論》、《阿毘達磨集論》、《阿毘達磨雜集論》、《如實論》、《迴諍論》、《順中論》等；二、玄奘譯陳那因明著作，特別是《因明正理門論》、商羯羅主的《因明入正理論》；三、以窺基《因明大疏》為根本材料所發展的東亞（中國、朝鮮、日本）因明注疏傳統。本門課將從漢譯材料溯源早期印度因明的發展，以《如實論》和《方便心論》為中心，旁涉〈遮羅迦本集論議道軌〉和《正理經》的相關部分，希望藉由釐清陳那因明之前的階段，了解後來唯識與中觀在論證方法上的差異所在。

早期漢譯因明文獻的研究，肇始於1930年代Giuseppe Tucci、宇井伯壽、呂澂的拓荒性貢獻，後來的學者，如梶山雄一，雖有所補充，基本上未能超過該時期的成就。以《如實論》為例，Tucci翻漢為梵，宇井旁涉同時期印度諸宗，呂澂則從陳那《集量論》檢出Vādavidhi引文，皆有突破性發明。本研討課將由本人和Brendan Gillon教授聯合主持。Brendan Gillon教授任教於McGill大學，為語言學家，專長梵語、漢語，並長期研究印度初期因明，和桂紹隆教授合作英譯《方便心論》，即將定稿出版。桂紹隆教授亦將於四月來訪，參加《方便心論》和《如實論》工作坊。本課程研讀過程中，Gillon教授除共同主持《如實論》的解讀外，亦將共同研讀印度初期因明的材料：〈遮羅迦本集論議道軌〉、《正理經》、《方便心論》。

A Distant Mirror: Articulating Indic Ideas in Sixth and Seventh Century Chinese Buddhism

In this book, an international team of fourteen scholars investigates the Chinese reception of Indian Buddhist ideas, especially in the sixth and seventh centuries. Topics include Buddhist logic and epistemology (pramāṇa, yinming); commentaries on Indian Buddhist texts; Chinese readings of systems as diverse as Madhyamaka, Yogācāra and tathāgatagarbha; the working out of Indian concepts and problematics in new Chinese works; and previously under-studied Chinese evidence for developments in India. The authors aim to consider the ways that these Chinese materials might furnish evidence of broader Buddhist trends, thereby problematizing a prevalent notion of “sinification”, which has led scholars to consider such materials predominantly in terms of trends ostensibly distinctive to China. The volume also tries to go beyond seeing sixth- and seventh-century China primarily as the age of the formation and establishment of the Chinese Buddhist “schools”. The authors attempt to view the ideas under study on their own terms, as valid Buddhist ideas engendered in a rich, “liminal” space of interchange between two large traditions.
