Michael Radich took his PhD at Harvard University, where he studied Chinese Buddhism with Robert Gimello and Chinese thought under Michael Puett. His dissertation is entitled "The Somatics of Liberation: Ideas about Embodiment in Buddhism from Its Origins to the Fifth Century C.E." (2007). His main research interests lie in Buddhist philosophy and doctrine, Yog璽cra Buddhism, and the comparison of Indian and Chinese systems of thought. He is presently Lecturer in the Religious Studies Programme at Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand. Michael has contributed more than thirty entries many of these being of substantial length on a variety of topics concerning Chan, Yog璽cra, and Tathgatagarbha thought, and has edited, corrected, and supplemented numerous other entries in this area.
