<i>CNA</i> (2010/09/25) Among the commissioned projects of the Bureau of Energy, Ministry of Economic Affairs, the project developing energy conservation paints has output several products which can reduce the interior solar heat gain. Taiwan is located in the sub-tropical area, the Bureau of Energy points out, with the energy conservation paints, the interior temperature would reduce two to five and save four billion kwh (reducing 2.68 million tons of carbon emission) a year if widely adopted.
The Bureau of Energy points out, the invented paints includes high reflective series (including white paints, color paints and transparent paints) and low emissivity series which can be used on industrial, residential and commercial buildings. With the paints, the building could reduce the shining through of the sunlight and efficiently reduce the electricity consumption in summer. The transparent paints can reflect the heat by preventing the access of infrared rays while receiving the visible light.
