[Disaster Management] ITRI Presents Innovates Eagle Eye to Observe the Disastrous Terrain (<a href=http://mepopedia.com/forum/read.php?127,7421>Chinese Version</a>)

<i>Now News</i> (2010/08/20) During the 88 Flood period last year, when the helicopters could not go and observe the disastrous terrain for the improper weather condition so that the initial land information could not be obtained for the reference of disaster management, ITRI (Industrial Technology Research Institute) began to develop a pilotless auto-multiple focuses reconnaissance plane.

The unmanned reconnaissance plan is called Eagle Eye, This pilotless plan's wings length is 150 cm. It can detect multiple focuses of observation automatically, and it can lock on certain objectives, catching the objects and zooming in/out automatically or manually. It has multiple-view-field wide-angle (sixty degree) lens. It can also be controlled with wireless transmission technology.

Eagle Eye will serve in bridges monitoring, landslide hot-spots monitoring, wildlife conservation, fishery or agricultural management, rivers and water reservoirs monitoring, air quality detection, etc. The present testing has good results; it is believed that Eagle Eye will get on board in the near future.
