[Cross-Strait Cooperation][Information] Cross-strait “Cloud Makers” Work Together in Expanding China Market (<a href==http://mepopedia.com/forum/read.php?127,197459745>Chinese Version</a>)

<i>CNA – Focus Taiwan</i> (2012/01/06) A cooperative venture between Taipei-based TCloud Computing Inc. and Chinese cloud computing solutions provider Skycloud Technology has received several orders in China to build cloud computing centers.

The venture has adopted a cloud computing solution developed by TCloud Computing, a subsidy of Trend Micro Inc., said Trend Micro co-founder Steve CHANG at a press conference in Taipei Friday.

According to CHANG, the TCloud solution was first used for the establishment of the information technology (IT) cloud computing platform of the Huizhi Tech cloud services center in the Shanghai Pudong Software Park last July.

Since then, the cloud computing center model developed by Trend Micro, TCloud Computing and Skycloud Technology has won orders from over 10 major Chinese customers.

Currently, the Shanxi provincial government, the Putong software park and China Mobile's Guangdong branch have decided to use the TCloud solution in their cloud computing center projects, CHANG said, and he expected the model to expand from greater China to Southeast Asian markets.

Skycloud Technology founder Edward TIAN, who is also a co-founder of China Netcom Group Corp., also attended the press conference and said his company's cooperation with TCloud has defeated many strong competitors from the United States and Europe in the Chinese market.

He felt there would be significant commercial opportunities for the cloud computing industry in the future because of China's initiative to build data centers around the mainland as part of its 12th five-year national development plan.
