Owing to such a predicament, the instant data about the disaster impact are difficult to obtain and then the disastrous situation cannot be grasped by the office.

Now, the forest district office has completed the construction of a basic database of the general information about the landslide spots in its jurisdiction with a collection of the satellite images of these spots during the past years. Besides, the rivers in its jurisdiction, including Liwu River, Taosai River, Sanjhan North River, Mugua River, Shoufeng River, Maan River, Bazi River, Hongyeh River, Fengping River, Lehe River, etc., are monitored so that when a disaster occur the terrain changes of the river banks will be contrasted against the previously collected images. With such a contrast, the better emergent policy and disaster management will be made. Besides, the office also spent special attention to the spots of the public's worries including the barrier lake at Chu Village, Tongmen along Mugua River and the highway slopes along the Provincial Highway No. 9 and the Heping Highway.
